How can I collect pledges?

Your friends, family, and supporters can make a pledges by cheque or cash, or on your personal fundraising page with Visa or Mastercard

Do I need to keep track of the pledges I have received?

Yes and no. If pledges are made online, don’t worry about tracking them. Online pledges are processed immediately.

If your receive cash or a cheque you need to manually enter these pledges on your personal donation website. To do so you will need to login to your personal donation page, click the ‘Record Pledges’ tab. Scroll down this page and click the ‘Add a Pledge’ button. Fill out the required information and submit. Manually entered donations will show as ‘unconfirmed’ until the funds have been submitted to YESS.

Is there a deadline for collecting pledges?

June 10

It doesn't look like I'll be able to attend anymore, can I get my $20 registration fee back?

Darn! We were looking forward to seeing you there!

Unfortunately, the $20 registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Pledges made to individuals are also non-refundable and non-transferable.

Team Registration

Is there a team registration fee?

Each individual on the team must pay the $20 registration fee.

I registered as an individual, but now I want to join a team, how do I do this?

Sign into your personal fundraising page, go to edit my profile, under “My To Do List” select change my profile & goals, scroll down to Team Affiliation and pick a team.

I've been talking about the event and now my coworkers want to join. How do I add them to my team?

Great! Your coworkers, family members, hockey team mates, friends, neighbours, and anyone else you meet can join your team any time before the registration close date, June 1.

To join your team, they just need to click the ‘Register’ link at the top of this page, and then select the ‘Join a Team’ icon. If you have already registered your team, the team name you have chosen will be displayed in the list of teams. They need to click your team name to register as a participant and become part of your team.

I found out my coworker also registered a team. Can we combine our teams?

Unfortunately once teams are registered they can’t be combined.

Can I be on more than one team?

Due to the nature of the event, and team related activities and awards, you can only be one team. Choose wisely!

How much does our team have to raise to attend?

Each individual must have raised $100 in pledges to participate in the event.

Event FAQ

I always bring my dog camping with me. Can he come?

We are certain your pet is well-behaved, but unfortunately, Fido, Floppy, and Whiskers must stay at home. Animals are not allowed at the event.

Do I need to bring cash to the event?

You may want to, yes. There will be a full bar on site as well as a concession, 50/50 draw, and other things that will cost money.

What if it rains?

Homeless youth frequently have to deal with difficult weather conditions such as rain, snow, wind, and extreme cold, so for one night, we’ll face whatever weather comes our way too. Rain or shine, Homeless for a Night will take place.

Where do I park?

Free parking is available in the north and west parking lots of TELUS Field.

I saw some pictures of people roasting marshmallows? Do I need to bring my own wood, roasting sticks, marshmallows?

Nope! We’ll supply it all!

My child is 16, can he attend without me?

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
